Current Bath/Shower Obsessions

bathroom obsessions 1

For me, the bathroom is a place of sanctuary. Not for obvious reasons (get your mind out of the gutter), but for the simple fact that the bathroom is where I unwind, pamper and indulge.

There’s nothing that I love better than enjoying a long soak in the tub after a stressful day or having an invigorating shower to wake me up in the morning. I take my pampering very seriously, as the older I get the more attention my skin requires to stay soft, supple and youthful. Adding some fragrant bath products into the mix makes the experience that more enjoyable.

When spending my hard earned money, I would much rather invest in a luxurious bath product than a new mascara. Don’t get me wrong, I love makeup, but the sensuous descriptive packaging of bath and body products get me every time.

Here’s a snapshot of my current bathroom staples that help me along the way when I’m in pampering mode:-

Rituals Hammam Hot Scrub £19.50 available here

bathroom obsessions 3

You can’t talk about at-home pampering without mentioning the Dutch brand Rituals. Their zen-like bathing products are designed to treat your skin and your aura with ancient eastern traditions. The ginger and eucalyptus components in the Hammam range really stuck out for me and gave me a good enough reason to try it out. If you’ve been a fan of my blog for a while, then you will know that I absolutely love Turkish Hammams. The smell of rassoul mud and eucalyptus is enchanting and always make me feel like I’ve had a good cleanse!

The scrub consists of large sea salt particles; which easily dissolve under running water. The blend of aromatic oils help the scrub glide seamlessly across your skin . The heat from your skin warms the product, giving you an invigorating feeling, leaving you smooth and buffed to perfection. I use this scrub twice a week to ensure that my skin remains soft and glowing, free from any imperfections.

Korres Basil Lemon Shower Gel £8.00 available here

bathroom obsessions 5

When I need a pick-me-up in the morning, I reach for my Korres showel gel. I find that most shower gels on the market irritate and further exaggerate my dry skin. The wheat proteins in this product form a barrier of protection on the skin, leaving a long-lasting, moisturised feeling all day. It’s rich in vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc and antioxident enzymes; which boosts the natural immune system of the skin.

In terms of affordability, it’s pretty decent. A tiny 50p sized amount is enough to create a wonderful creamy lather. The smell is absolutely amazing, but to be honest, if you’re not a fan of citrus smells, you won’t like this. I, however, love smelling like a giant lemon (insert joke here) so this, for me, is my perfect morning time pick-me-up.

Laura Mercier Almond Coconut Milk Honey Bath £33.00 available here

bathroom obsessions 7

Laura Mercier has always been a firm favourite of mine for many years. She knows how to get it right when it comes to her complexion products, and when I first came across the bath range, I knew to expect nothing but luxury. The bath cremes come in an array of scents including Fresh Fig Honey, Creme Brulee, Ambre Vanilla and my favourite, Almond Coconut Milk Honey. Are you salivating yet?

The Almond Coconut Milk Honey Bath is a new twist on bath time indulgence. The product itself is set within a glass jar complete with a wooden honey dipper. As you lift the lid the scent is almost intoxicating, transporting you to a land far away full of delicious delights. The wooden dipper is used to scoop a small amount of product and twirl under running water to turn your bath water into a beautifully scented concoction of extravagance. The notes of powdered sugar, vanilla and cinnamon leaves your skin with a soft veil of fragrance and the natural ingredients help to firm, lift, tone and moisturise your skin.

It’s been said that one of Cleopatra’s many beauty secrets was to bathe in only milk and honey to keep her skin irresistible. Here’s the way I see it – if it’s good enough for Egyptian royalty then it’s good enough for me!

Jason 5000IU Vitamin E Beauty Oil £7.00 available here

bathroom obsessions 9

This is a great all-rounder for the face and body. It contains a blend of almond, apricot, avocado, sunflower and wheat germ oils; which promote intense hydration and skin renewal. Vitamin E nourishes, moisturises and helps regenerate the skin. Fines lines, uneven texture and elasticity are all improved with continuous use of this magical elixir.

Add a few drops of this oil to a warm bath or slather over your skin after you get out of the shower. The residue is non-sticky and easily absorbs into the skin leaving it healthy and plump.

It’s amazing. I like using it dry, before I hop into the shower so that I get the most out of the product! Oh I agree, the price on the LM bath is extortionate, but it’s great to pull out when I need an extra bit of pampering! xxx
